JOURNAL
ENTRY

While I was pregnant with my son, his father and I sorted out which animal he'd be most close to his whole life. We decided on a tiger, because his middle-name was the same as his god-father-to-be's first name. His god-father-to-be's nickname is Tiger, so it just made sense.
Fast-forward a few years, and it turns out he relates more to a kraken. SIGH!
When his little sister was in the works, her dad and I found ourselves deciding her animal for her as well. I was 90% more sure this time, because she seemed to think my uterus was an aquarium. I guess it kinda was!
Well, out she popped, and we had all these turtles ready to shower on her. Plushies, shirts, onesies, blankies. If we could've found a way to turn her crib into an aquarium, we would have. She enjoyed her turtle plushies, and we all thought that was that.
One fateful afternoon, the four of us (Daddy, Mama, big brother and little sister) all decided to visit Toys R Us. Deia (our little girl) was already showing signs of being a plushie hoarder, so we went traipsing down the plushie aisle. Right in the middle of the aisle, there was an adorable floppy cow. As soon as I saw it, I held it up to her and made it dance, chanting "Moooo" as I did so. She grabbed it, wrapped it up in her arms, and said "Moo." It wasn't her first word, but it quickly became her favorite! She wouldn't let us leave the store without Moo, so we had to take it home with us. We're still not sure if Original Moo (OG Moo) is a boy or a girl. Deia's only two and hasn't fully grasped the fine differences between boys and girls. It doesn't really seem to matter, though, because she now has a whole family of Moo plushies.
So much for trying to decide my kids' animals for them, huh?

Since she's such a Moo fanatic (moreso than Jaiden, my son, loves krakens), I doodled cows for her from time to time. She loves to sit on my lap and direct the Moo creation. More spots, Moo, Moo Moo Moo, tail.
For the holidays this year, I decided to draw all of us as animals, and suddenly Moo and Friends was born!

Our housemate is considered our middle child (he'll be turning 30 in a week, so he's nowhere close to our 7 and 2 year olds). He was added to the Moo and Friends roundup as a Hedgehog. Poor guy didn't know what his animal was, so we just searched for animals until we found one that fit him :)
